Jumpstart 3D Virtual World: an online educational game for kids

Jumpstart, a developer of educational games for kids has now launched an online educational game based on a 3D virtual world concept (it’s something like World of Warcraft for toddlers ).

Kids can choose their Avatar (a virtual representation) and interact with characters in the online world. Whereas a lot of other similar games focus on the aspect of social interaction, the Jumpstart 3D Virtual world puts more focus on the educational value of the game (such as reading, math, critical thinking, etc.).

• Missions that unlock new areas of the JumpStart 3D virtual world.

Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper Review

The Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper (what a mouthful ) is an educational baby toy developed by the company that became famous for the Baby Einstein videos. The toy is a combination of a jumper and activity center, stimulating a whole range of developmental activities.

The jumper (straps are adjustable and spring loaded) provides exercise for your baby’s legs, an effective preparation for walking.  At the same time, the activities (such as the mirror, bead chaser, frog spinner, teether stalk) will stimulate a whole range of visual and motoric abilities. The toy also includes a cool baby piano with light-up keys, providing your baby an interactive and introductory experience to musical creativity.

The advantages of the Musical Motion Activity Jumper is the versatility of the toy. It combines important leg exercises with other kinds of stimulation. And most importantly, the babies really enjoy themselves with the toy.

The most important downside is the piano that seems to break quite easily (didn’t experience this myself though).

To summarize the review, the Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper is a versatile educational toy but be careful when your baby is the next Jerry Lee Lewis

Fisher-Price Elmo Live Review + Tips on Where to Buy Elmo Live

I thought it was time for a Fisher-Price Elmo Live review. This toy is so popular at this moment, it’s unbelievable. I’ll also put some links on where to buy elmo live. To find Elmo will be quite difficult in the holiday period because demand for the toy is so high.

Onto the review then.

The good things:

• Elmo live is quite advanced. it has a lot of complex actions, movements and is really interactive
• Animation is fluid, he’s like real (well, not really, but you know what I mean )
• He tells stories, dances, plays games, etc … he’s a lot of fun and very versatile

What could be better:

• Elmo isn’t always very stable. He quite easily falls over. Be gentle with him
• Noisy mechanics. Elmo makes noise when he moves (and he moves a lot!).

I also promised you some tips on where to buy Elmo live. In my experience, both Amazon en EBay are good places to buy popular toys. Because eBay has more merchants, you could find a better price on eBay. Secondly, if the other stores run out of stock, there is a good chance that you can still find Elmo on eBay.

Leapster 2 Review – Leapfrog Leapster Learning Game System

The Leapfrog Leapster learning Game system is a handheld educational game console. The main goal is to stimulate learning behavior through engaging interactivity. Mathematics and language are the main skills taught in the leapster learning game system. In addition, the leapfrog leapster console is also encouraging artistic behavior by incorporating art and draw modules.

It’s actually a learning toy aimed at children (4 to 10 years old – so don’t put in the hands of your baby or toddler . One of the main drivers of its success is the availability of several games inspired by well known television and movie characters such as Batman, Nemo, Cars, Thomas the Tank, Diego, Wall-E, Star Wars, etc …

The leapster educational toy is also providing guidance during gameplay in the form of Eison the firefly. This automated guide coaches the kids in solving the problem.

The device is robust and rounded. It features a 2 1/4 inch touch screen and a pen for drawing. Like regular game consoles it also has a gamepad and A/B buttons.

All-in-all a nice kid toy whose value is greatly increased by the great number of software titles available for the Leapfrog leapster learning game system. Check it out here.

Top Kids Toys

This week I found top educational kids toys (such as top toddlers educational toys and baby educational toys) I didn’t know before and really nice developmental toys for 1, 2 and 3 year olds. I believe these kids toys are quite unique.

One of those types of toys is the so called cause and effect toys. These are actually toys where kids perform some action and the toy gives some kind of response. Most of the times there are noises involved like bells, music, etc … One example is the Chicco DJ Piano, another one is the Tiny Love – Gymini – Super Deluxe Lights & Music Play Mat (this one’s more for babies than toddlers) or the Leapfrog Learn & Groove Magical Table.

There were also some learning systems I found quite interesting like the Leapfrog Leapster Learning System (the latest version is the leapster 2). It’s like a nintendo gameboy for 4 year olds. Reviews are generally very positive, the teaching games are quite educational if I can believe the reviews. By the way, there is a green version and a pink version.

There are a lot of great educational toys for toddlers on the market. In this post, I am picking the best ones (in my opinion at least ). My oldest son (toddler of 2 years of age) absolutely loves those toys, they are the top!

I already talked about this game console for kids. I originally bought the toy for my oldest boy when he was 1 year old, but that was way too early. It’s only now, when he’s over two years old that he starts playing with the Vtech learning system, but now he’s really fond of it. Cheap Vtech Toys For Kids

Vtech toys are not exactly what you would call cheap kids toys but I’ll try to give you some tips on where to find them at a good price.

The Vtech educational learning toys are a hit among both parents and children. Parents love them because they are educational and kids love them because they are just fun. The Vtech learning system for example is the best excuse to play video games. And the laptops are fun too because kids see their parents use laptops, cellphones,  … and Vtech just provides the children a way to do the same.
